Tenino High Clubs
Students

At Tenino High School, we encourage and support the unique talents and interests of our students. We offer a variety of clubs and organizations, all designed to inspire our students to enjoy learning, support each other, and build strong character.

Honor Society

National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationally recognized organization on campus for juniors and seniors. The Tenino NHS encourages academics, service, and good character. Upon completion of required service hours and high school graduation, the NHS member becomes a lifelong alumnus of the National Honor Society.

Student Council

The Tenino High School Student Council teaches our kids responsibility, communication, and leadership skills. The student representatives work closely with their own classmates, and with the school overall. They learn how to work together as a team, and how to value the opinions of others. They also learn how to listen, and how to unify various views and ideas. Most importantly, they learn that we can do things together that none of us could do individually.

FFA

The new 2008-2009 Tenino High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) chapter year has begun! This year’s plans are full of fun activities, tons of community service, and themed meetings every month. Students can find out more about all of these activities in Tenino High School’s agriculture classroom (Room 301) on the FFA bulletin board, the themed windows, or just talk to one of the chapter officers listed below. Membership fee is $17.00.

Our new officers are:

  • Andy Warren, President
  • Courtney Belew, Vice President
  • Kaylee Hayes, Treasurer
  • Femke de Boer, Secretary
  • Samantha Journey, Reporter
  • Don Nelson, Sentinel
  • Dachelle Knutter, Historian
  • Jessy Platter and Jocelyn Moore, Officers
  • Geraldine Maxfield, Chapter Advisor

The FFA officers and Mrs. Maxfield went on a camping retreat to Mayfield Lake this August to plan the coming school year’s events. August can be a very “wet” month. Despite the pouring rain, the retreat was quite successful. Events planned for the year include the Haunted House in October, the spring Plant Sale, and the annual drawing for a cord of wood. Each officer of the chapter has the responsibility of planning one of the events on the calendar. Those attending the retreat choose the T.H.S. FFA theme for the 2008-2009 school year: Step Up and Stand Out.
